Guy Fletcher,OBE
Guy has been a respected songwriter since the sixties. Recordings of his songs by Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Ray Charles, Frankie Valli, Joe Cocker and many other international stars have ensured his place in British pop history.
Now a leading light in the British music publishing industry, he is Director of the Performing Rights Society . He was also a founding director of British Music Rights Ltd. (now UK Music Ltd). For more than a decade, Guy was Chairman of BASCA, The British Academy of Songwriters Composers and Authors where he led many campaigns against the erosion of composers rights. He continues to be a highly respected voice internationally in the struggle for the maintenance of the value of our copyrights and tirelessly champions the cause of the creator in all industry matters. For these things he was honored with an OBE in H.M. the Queen’s birthday honors list in 2005. Guy is now chairman of PRS for music, shaping the future of digital music publishing.
